Sand & Sage Sports Car Club • August 10th Club Meeting Minutes
- We ate pizza during our bench racing session.
- Introductions were made.
- We thanked our sponsors - Master Transmissions, Autobahn Auto Care Center, Traffic Jams and Indy Kart. We were sorry to hear that Master Transmissions is now out of business.
- There were no additional new business items for the agenda.
- The VP report from Lynn included the items noted below.
- Bob gave the Treasurers Report. There were no events last month, so there was no revenue in July. We have $12,425 in cash and $8,490 in other assets, for a net worth of $20,915. (Other assets include the timing system, laptop computers and the trailer).
OLD BUSINESS
- New Timing System Report (Lynn/Mitch)
- New items recently purchased include a 3rd laptop, a display board that will show lap times and a foam case. The laptop is identical to the other laptops, and it will serve as a remote terminal the members can use to check their times and as a 2nd registration laptop.
- Bob, Mara, Mitch, James and Stan all met and trained on the new timing system. We need additional volunteers to be trained on the system.
- Course Design Committee Report (Lynn)
- We have a four person committee now to review course designs. We have a great course for this month's events. Stan Crow is the designer, and the course should take about 40 seconds to complete.
- Next Event(s) Ð Dust Devils
- The next event is Ladies Night on August 12th. We have about twenty signed-up so far. Registration is at 5 pm, with the first driver out by 7 pm. We will need to finish by 8:30 due to darkness. The cost is $10. Ladies will get two gift certificates worth $5 each to offset the cost of running on Saturday and Sunday.
- There are no known conflicts with soccer or baseball for the August events.
- On Saturday and Sunday there will be a maximum of 6 runs (3 morning/3 afternoon).
- Worker assignments will be made at the Registration Table.
- New registration table signs were made by Gene. They came out great!
- The new laptop will be available as a remote terminal and also used as a 2nd registration machine
- A new small microphone stand has been purchased for the announcer.
- Mikey Hall will lead the guided course walk from now on.
- Lynn Rogers will conduct the drivers meeting from now on.
